E-mail to Julia

I'm very pleased you and your friends are coming to Zaragoza.

There are several sites that you should visit, but if you are looking for not usually spots, I'll recommend you near Zaragoza, the Bardeas Reales, an amazing nature space where you could see very strange and artistic landscapes.

Nearer Zaragoza, you can visit the Academia General Militar, where you can discover how the army organizes the troops. It's one of the  biggest headquarters of Spain.

In the meantime, I recommend you to go through the Tubo, where big amount of bars full the street. Local people usually have there the aperitif and some tapas like "la ballenita", a piece of bread with herring on it. How tasty it is!.

Keep me informed

Castilla y Leon

If you travel a lot, you will find very interesting places. This can sound obvious, but after travelling around Castilla y Leon,  I’ve found that very near you, the weather, the people, the habits and landscapes are not the same as yours. People always say Spain is a group of countries and weathers, and I feel like is true.

Firstly, if you look into the definition of tourist, you can find that a tourist is a person who travels to a place to spend there some days. At the place, you can decide what kind of approach are you going to take, if you are going to be involved with local population, or on the other hand, you are going to have fun and see the best sights and monuments of the place.

Secondly, in this case Castilla y Leon, it’s a quite big community, so it’s normal there will be differences between for example Soria as Valladolid, or Leon with Zamora. It’s often said that the weather make the people different, so in places where rainy days are numerous like Leon, or very cold winters like Valladolid or Soria the differences with Segovia and Salamanca are quite big.

Finally, in a country as Spain, we depend so much on tourist, small places like Avila or Palencia are making a big effort to try to start a tourist business, not only Spanish tourists, but foreign too. And the rampart of Avila or the cathedral of Palencia make this start up easy.

Bury box

I suggest to put in a bury box some things that in my opinion, in the future the openers will find interesting.

First, a piece of chalk. Every day this kind of pencil for the board are less common because it’s been substituted by digital boards. But it’s a learning tool than connect us with our ancestors, centuries ago they draw with carbon, chalks and other rocks; it will be a shame when this technique disappear.

Second, I would put in the capsule a book of science, so in the future it can be possible to contrast with their learning material. Science are related of all the knowledge human beings have in that moment, besides it describes the learning method there is in use nowadays.

Third, a school newspaper sounds to me a good idea, it represents how are our activities now, if there is a tournament of mathematics, or a sport match, a meeting between students, advertisements of extra class, and other things very linked to the school environment. It would represent our students perfectly.

Autobigraphy

I was born in a small mountain village in the north of Aragón. I was the youngest of four siblings and part of a large extended family. My parents both worked long hours in the village shop, and up to the age of five I was looked after by my grandmother. I went to the local primary school, an when I look back on my childhood I remember it as a memorable period.

At the age of twelve I was sent away to attend secondary school in Zaragoza. At first I loathed it and I was terrible homesick. As time went on, however, I slowly started to make friends and even enjoy school life.

After leaving school I got a place to study English and French at university, financing my studies by working in a restaurant at evenings. On graduating I worked as tour guide, taking groups of tourists round Aragon. While I was working on one of these trips I met Sarah, a biology student from Scotland. We kept in touch afterwards, and, to cut a long story short, got married two years later an she came over to Zaragoza.

Our long-term plan is to set up our own travel agency to take British tourists round Aragón, and I hope that in five years' time, I may have achieved this ambition.

A job of application

I am writing to apply for the post of Festival staff following on your advertisement.

I graduated at the University of Castellon in Spain, where I completed a degree in Organization.

I have a degree in English (B1), also a degree in French (B2) and some knowledge of Greek (A1). The past years, I travelled around Europe crossing some countries. I was able to deal with a lot of people, all kinds of characters, so I feel prepared to deal with the problems related to this job. I believe I would be suitable for the job advertised as, apart from my work experience, I am an outgoing person and get along well with people.

As you will see form my CV, I have been working in an office in a company for serveral years, where I am in charge of other people. When I began my work activity I also took part in serveral jobs with satisfaction always in mind, because I try to learn things. For sure if I have the chance I will be very focused to do the job properly from the first minute.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

VeN
